亚视台庆大戏，马景涛、陈秀文等《再见艳阳天》原班人马精彩演绎，一个关于缘分的爱情故事，一个大家族兴衰荣辱的故事，杨绍鸿继《倩女幽魂》又一力作。故事的主人公叫沈悠然和阮曼清，还有一个年轻的女孩叫孙秀冬。悠然说，我这一生只爱过两个女人，但她们都只是一个人，她就是阮曼清。但是，秀冬是悠然的妻子。故事发生在三十年代中国南方，广东大户孙家失去了独子，悠然因为家乡天灾，无法上缴孙家的田租，被秀冬的母亲孙二奶奶相入孙家，秀冬内心里反抗母亲的安排，也抵抗着悠然的到来，于是夫妻保持着表面上相敬如宾。可是，秀冬没有生育，大户人家岂能无后，庞大家产由谁来继？孙二奶奶想到了借腹生子的主意，于是阮曼清出现了。如果没有那场天灾，也许曼清和悠然已经结为夫妻，但他们总是错过。这一次的相见，两个人是蒙着眼睛在石屋里相处了七个夜晚。七个夜晚过去了，他们虽然不能看到对方，但他们心中都有一种挥之不去的愁绪，他们不想分开了，但是不得不分开。曼清历尽磨难延下一子一女龙凤胎，孙家只留下了儿子。小天柱一天天长大，非常调皮淘气……
