佛山宝芝林，由黄麒英，黄飞鸿父子主持，侠义为怀，赠医施药，深得民众敬重推崇。飞鸿收了三个弟子：梁宽，猪肉荣及牙擦苏，三人个善良，风趣诙谐。当地另一武馆馆主洪霸妒忌他，邀请高手仇千丈来粤，要在醒狮大会上痛击飞鸿。果然，在醒狮大会上，飞鸿与徒弟遭到仇千丈及洪霸的伏击；幸好得师叔苏乞儿之助，终击败仇千丈而夺标。飞鸿带众徒往香港开设宝芝林分馆。此时却来了个日本武痴，武田秀一，向飞鸿挑战。他的妹妹武田静香柔情似水，对飞鸿一见钟情，飞鸿亦对她大有好感。秀一揭发了山本私下贩卖军火的罪行，却被山本捉住，但秀一较早前已将山本的犯罪证据交给静香。山本便是利用秀一逼静香交出犯罪证据。为了拯救胞兄，静香只身犯险，结果兄妹二人同遭毒手…… 梁宽发现父亲是被继祖暗中毒杀的，为了报仇，他不惜投靠山本。山本软禁了小云雀，要宽当众挑战黄飞鸿。梁宽无奈就范，结果出人意外，飞鸿竟然在众目睽睽之下被梁宽击倒，从此声名一落千丈……
